I filled up this morning, thankfully, after hearing murmurs on the radio. I caught it before it jacked up to $2.95- Prices are expected to get way higher, and rumors are that local towns are running out already.
...you're not in California at least. Our reserves are already stretched to the limit. Diesel was over $3/gal at the beginning of the month... now they're heading towards 3.40.
Given the hits that Katrina gave them in the Gulf I don't see it getting much better anytime soon.
I just paid 2.89 at the local Mobil, which is the highest gas stop in the area. I guess it's gonna hit in waves, huh? I count myself lucky now; who knows what it's going to be like by the weekend.
Dande! Long time, no hear! Gas is always more expensive where you are than I am, right? But, even so-- 3.40? Diesel? Yikes.
Yeah, it's always more expensive here but things are particularly dire right now. We're a petroleum distributor and with these prices we are barely scraping by right now and this is supposed to be the best time of the year for us. We're still busy but the prices at the rack are just killing us.
Unbranded is supposed to make a .60 jump here tonight. I hope the reserves help take some of the heat off because this doesn't bode well for our lean season.
You don't get any of that extra cash? That's just not right.
I wish you and yours the best on this, of course. I know you'll make it through, though, living up to your icon. You already have the 'three-animal-print' mojo, so I'm not worried. ;)

Then again, I just read something that said that gas supply will get better this weekend.

Not good, either way.
I commute 200+ miles a night!
